Troubleshooting

Resource reload failed​

Run:

/texteffect validate
/texteffect zip

Then check that the generated ZIP is hosted as a direct download URL.

Effects show as solid colours​

This means the text tag worked, but the resource pack is not loaded on the client.

Check:

resource-pack.resource-pack-url
resource-pack.send-on-join

No messages.yml or text_effects.yml generated​

This is intentional. TextEffect messages and effects are internal in v1.0.0.

Player tags do not work​

Player-facing features are disabled by default. Enable the feature in settings.yml and make sure the player has the matching effect permission.

Example:

texteffect.rainbow

DecentHolograms line does not animate​

Make sure the client has loaded the TextEffect resource pack. Hologram text will not animate without the shader pack loaded.
