Layers and Preview
Basic Studio effects are built from a top to bottom layer stack.
Add a layer
Click Add layer, search the catalogue and choose a layer. The catalogue is split into colour, motion, brightness and special groups.
Each layer uses only the controls supported by the plugin. Depending on the layer, these can include:
- Speed
- Strength
- Spacing
- Minimum and maximum values
- Colours and colour palettes
- Direction or transition modes
Arrange layers
Drag the grip to move a layer. Layers run from top to bottom, so changing the order can change the final result.
Use the layer actions to:
- Move a layer up or down
- Duplicate a layer
- Reset its controls
- Remove it
Click the layer header to collapse or expand that layer. The Collapse and Expand buttons apply the same action to the full stack.
Live preview
The preview updates while you change controls. You can edit the sample text, change the background colour and use a checker background for transparent effects.
The preview is labelled as a WebGL approximation. Minecraft uses its own font atlas, shader passes and display scaling, so the in-game result can differ slightly.
Performance warnings
Pixel-level layers such as Edge Glow, Chromatic Edge and Static Noise cost more than normal colour or movement layers.
The validation card warns when an effect uses a heavy combination. A warning does not always block export, but it should be checked in Minecraft before the effect is used widely to maximise performance.
Layer reference
The current Basic Studio layer list is shown inside the editor. Each catalogue card includes its description, controls and performance cost.
